Hawkes Bay traces its roots to the various maritime business owned by Tysers family in London in nineteenth century. Originally a family firm after 180 years as a private partnership with deep familiarity with the business of marine insurance and in 2007 a new generation spearheaded a new holding structure - Hawkes Bay became the holding company of Tysers Insurance until purchased by Integro Insurance Brokers in 2018.

Over time, Hawkes Bay has expanded its investments in MGA operations and in 2008 - SART was incorporated in Hong Kong. SART’s hallmark is its significant presence in Asia Pacific backed by the company’s international expertise in the Casualty, Engineering, Financial Lines, and Marine insurance. In 2021, to reconnect our 200 years of insurance and proactive rebranding - Hawkes Bay Underwriting.
